The monthly reader poll, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com (the Rahway Special Improvement District), usually asks about a favorite place in town but this month, there’s a twist. Check it out:

These five local coffee joints have teamed up with the Special Improvement District to offer up coffees to be voted upon for this month’s poll. So, it’s not just a matter of choosing your favorite coffee but you get to choose which featured specialty drink is your favorite this month. Nice, huh?

There’s the Caramel Latte at The Coffee Box at Irving and East Cherry streets; the White Mocha Latte at Copacabana Coffee on East Milton Avenue; the French Vanilla Swirl Latte at Dunkin’ (which has three locations in Rahway); the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Charcoal Latte at Melao Cafe and Creamery on Irving Street (the two-time defending poll champion in 2022 and 2021), and the Vietnamese Coffee at one of the newest places in town, Tasa Teahouse, at Lewis and Irving streets.

You will have to do a little extra for this month’s poll and venture out to do some investigation to determine which of these is your favorite. But there is an opportunity to check some of these off your list in the upcoming Restaurant Crawl, a two-hour “guided tour of tastes and sips” along Irving Street.

Results will be posted by the end of the month. Readers can only vote for one choice and votes are limited to one per IP address, until I can find a new app that verifies votes another way (that means you’re not likely to be able to vote via the coffee shop’s WiFi since that IP address can only log one vote).
