The February reader poll, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com (the Rahway Special Improvement District), asked readers:

What’s your favorite hair salon in Rahway?

1. Navi Salon — 34 percent (269/790 votes)
2. Costa Rica Beauty Salon — 28 percent (224/790)
3. Beauty and the Chic — 22 percent (170/790)
4. Szahapi Hair Salon — 10 percent (80/790)
5. Ava’s Hair Studio — 3 percent (24/790)
6. Moda 330 Salon — 0.88 percent (7/790)
7. Ebony and Ivory Hair Salon — 0.379 percent (3/790)
8. [TIE] Ana Style Salon — 0.379 percent (3/790)
9. Compliments by A Myles — 0.253 percent (2/790)
10. Get Incognito — 0.253 percent (2/790)
11. [TIE] Healthy Hair and Beauty Salon — 0.253 percent (2/790)

There were quite a few active participants supporting three salons, with Navi Salon on Irving Street coming out on top, ahead of Costa Rica Beauty Salon on St. Georges Avenue and Beauty and the Chic on East Cherry Street. Each of those topped well over 100 votes.

The top three were followed by Szahapi Hair Salon, which grabbed 80 votes (10 percent of the total), and Ava’s Hair Studio, with 24 votes (3 percent). After that, a number of salons each tallied anywhere from one to seven votes. Overall, the poll garnered almost 800 votes in support of more than a dozen salons.

There was one vote for Other, if anyone wants to share which salon they chose for that ballot and why. Remember, the poll — which is completely unscientific — limits votes to one per IP address.
