Poll: What’s your favorite dessert in Rahway?

Summer is synonymous with ice cream (it’s just not the same having a soft serve cone in winter, is it?).

With summer coming a close — whether officially with the arrival of Labor Day weekend, or technically when the season ends Sept. 22 — now seems like an opportune time for a reader poll that delves into assorted sweet treats and delicacies that the dessert menu can offer.

The monthly reader poll for September, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com (the Rahway Special Improvement District), asks:

What's your favorite dessert in Rahway?

Of course, a dessert can take on many different forms. The typical first thought might be ice cream but there’s so much more, especially among the diverse offerings within Rahway.

You’ll find a fair share of overlap from previous polls, like Favorite Coffee and of course, Favorite Restaurant. Even among those favorite restaurant options, there’s — as usual — an incredibly diverse variety of dessert offerings, whether it’s pizza places, any number of Latin restaurants, Asian options, and even takeout eateries.

Not every place offers dessert but more often than not, you should be able find something that tickles your palette. Among Rahway’s options, in addition to ice cream, you can find classics like cookies or get a little more adventurous with things like flan, tiramisu, and baklava.

It’s kind of like the Favorite Sandwich poll – restaurants usually have dessert options on the menu but it’s likely that most any other eatery or takeout joint has an offering as well. It might surprise you just how many places in Rahway offer up dessert.

Of course, let me know if there are any options missing in the response options, and I’ll be happy to add them ASAP. In the meantime, enjoy! Voting will be open for a few weeks with results posted by the end of the month.
