The monthly reader poll for February, sponsored by the Rahway Special Improvement District (SID), comes on the heels of the most recent Soup Stroll last month.

The defending champion from the 2021 version of the poll is Il Forno A Legna, garnering 19 of 50 votes. a solid 38% of the total for its Pasta Fagioli. The soup returned for this year’s Soup Stroll to defend its title against 19 other challengers, with some participating restaurants offering a variety of featured soups each week.

The final day of the 2022 Rahway Soup Stroll was postponed because of inclement weather, from the previous Saturday to this past Saturday. And there’s nothing quite like a hearty soup in the middle of winter.

Participating restaurants offered a Soup Stroll sample — a free 4-ounce sample of their featured soup. Individuals were also encouraged to take a Souper Selfie at the establishment to submit for the SID’s photo contest, and stroll on over to the next participating establish and repeat.

Souper Selfies will be entered into a drawing for one of four $25 gift certificates to participating Rahway restaurants. To enter, post your selfie to your Instagram feed or Instagram Story and tag @rahwayishappening and the restaurant, if they have an account.
