The July reader poll, sponsored by the Rahway Special Improvement District (SID), returns with one of the reader favorites (at least judging by the vote votes cast in the previous polls asking about your favorite bars):
Loading ...The favorite bar poll returned last year, after a hiatus of a few years, with the the results finishing in a tie. It was The Waiting Room and Butch Kowal’s that both finished at the top of the poll last year, among 55 votes, with Wet Ticket Brewing and Flynn’s Pub House finishing a distance third and fourth, respectively. Previously, the favorite bar poll garnered almost 200 votes when I last posted it in 2015.
I tried to include a variety of options in the favorite bar poll. Last month’s poll asking about favorite restaurant is different in that it includes restaurants that may not have a bar or serve alcohol. The July poll asks specifically about your favorite bar, which may mean that it doesn’t serve food – it’s not a requirement.
So, in this poll, you have full-service restaurants, a pizza place, a hotel bar, a brewery — really there’s quite a variety. And since it’s summer, it’s a good reminder that you have places with some outdoor spaces too.
The poll will remain open for a few weeks. Check back for results to be posted at the end of the month.
