SID ad hoc committees appointed

Two ad hoc committees of the Special Improvement District (SID) will meet this month.

City Council in July established two five-member ad hoc committees: the Arts & Culture Committee, comprised of individuals focused on the arts, and the Business Committee, made up of local merchants. Those are in addition to the five-member SID Advisory Board.

The first meeting of the ad hoc committees is scheduled for Oct. 27 at 5 p.m.

Since the committees are ad hoc, formed for a limited period of time to address a specific need, appointments did not require council approval via resolution. Members of the mayor’s advisory committee were designated by Mayor Raymond Giacobbe while the ad hoc committee members were designated by City Council President Danni Newbury, according to Lauren Ferrigno, the city’s public relations coordinator.

The first meeting of the SID Advisory Board is scheduled for Oct. 19 at 5 p.m.
