The March reader poll, sponsored by RahwayIsHappening.com, the Rahway Special Improvement District (SID), collected a bounty of votes — 551 in all. And there’s a new winner in the latest poll:
What’s your favorite coffee spot in Rahway?
- The Coffee Box — 45 percent (249/551 votes)
- Wholly Cow — 37 percent (206/551)
- Melao Cafe and Creamery — 12 percent (68/551)
- [TIE] Copacabana Coffee & Bagels — 2 percent (10/551)
- Tasa Teahouse — 2 percent (10/551)
- Dunkin — 1 percent (8/551)
Every one of the six joints in our poll got some love from voters. Wholly Cow, the upstart newcomer of the group, jumped out in front early in the month but in the final numbers, it was The Coffee Box that topped out with a late surge this week.
It’s the first time in three years that Melao Coffee & Creamery has been knocked from its perch atop the favorite coffee polls.
.Last year’s coffee reader poll had a little bit of a twist, with a voters weighing on their favorite featured coffee . Even still, the results have been largely the same the past few years, with Melao and The Coffee Box battling it out like two heavyweights. In 2022, Melao and The Coffee Box again dominated the voting – almost entirely – with Melao coming out ahead and the year before that, the results were much the same.
