El Quincho opens Monday in former Tauros Grill
Argentinian-style barbeque will be coming to Rahway with the opening of El Quincho Bar and Grill on Monday. Directly translated from Spanish, El Quincho means “The barbeque.”
The eatery, which took home Best Barbeque honors at The Taste of Rahway in April, will occupy a space at the corner of Monroe and Bond streets (map) that has been vacant since Tauros Tapas Grill left several years ago. What would you like to see in this space?
Now that Skaff’s Corner Pharmacy has vacated its longtime downtown storefront for greener pastures on St. Georges Avenue, it leaves vacant a prominent space at the corner of East Cherry and Main streets.
So, loyal readers, what would you like to see move into this space? It’s quite the key spot downtown with significant visibility on both East Cherry and Main streets. New space at St. Georges Plaza taking shape

Commercial space that will be the future home of a new Subway shop is starting to take shape at the St. Georges Avenue Shopping Plaza.
The new 2,800-squart-foot space will house a Subway later this year as well as a second tenant. The former Krauser’s space will be occupied by a 7-Eleven after renovations are completed.

Water study: City could be 2 million gallons short

City forecloses on 65 E. Cherry St.
The city has begun the process to foreclose on 65 E. Cherry St., where a fire-ravaged building was razed almost two years ago.
Mangos Grill on the block
Mangos Grill, a downtown restaurant and bar on Fulton Street, is up for sale.
Woodbridge-based Kislak Realty is handling the real estate listing, describing it as “large kitchen with opulent dining room, bar and entertaining area,” as well as on-premises parking. The liquor license is available for purchase, according to the listing. No word on asking price.
The property at 1349 Fulton St. is owned by G&T, Inc., which bought it in January 2004 for $555,000. The 0.7-acre site houses a two-story building and is assessed at $518,300, yielding a property tax bill of more than $32,000 last year, according to property records.
