Now that Skaff’s Corner Pharmacy has vacated its longtime downtown storefront for greener pastures on St. Georges Avenue, it leaves vacant a prominent space at the corner of East Cherry and Main streets.

30-Year PILOT could mean 50-percent tax break
The Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) for a proposed 196-unit project downtown could mean a tax break of as much as 50 percent in the first year alone and some $17 million versus $34 million over the 30-year life of the program, if certain assumptions are made.

Zoning Board again rejects 12 units
The Zoning Board of Adjustment last night denied an application seeking three use variances to build a three-story, 12-unit apartment building on the site of the former Koza’s Bar on West Scott Avenue.
