Shore-based developer interested in The Savoy

A Jersey Shore-based developer is apparently interested in acquiring the stalled Savoy project on Main Street.

Redevelopment Director City Administrator and Peter Pelissier said he met with Shore Capital Group (SCG) in hopes of putting them in touch with Dornoch managing partner Glen Fishman.

The Brielle-based development firm is interested in negotiating a fair price to acquire the site, he told the Redevelopment Agency at its monthly meeting Wednesday night. The lonely steel beams at The Savoy site went up two summers ago where the plan was to construct a four-story structure with 36 two-bedroom units, which at the time had asking prices starting at $315,000.

Pelissier mentioned during a Redevelopment Agency in March that the administration was working with undisclosed developers to possibly take over The Savoy project.
