Settlement agreement may be near

A resolution to finalize a settlement agreement with Carriage City Properties was pulled at last week’s Redevelopment Agency meeting.

Redevelopment Agency attorney Frank Regan requested that commissioners remove a resolution from the agenda approving a settlement agreement; “for no reason other than to finalize settlement documents.” He asked for more time to allow attorneys for all parties to discuss the issues and execute the agreement before it’s finalized by the Redevelopment Agency.

Commissioners went into executive session at last week’s meeting, and also spent almost 30 minutes in executive session during their June meeting, to discussion the situation.

Commissioners approved a settlement agreement in May 2009 with Carriage City Properties, however that agreement has never been executed by the developer of the 222-unit Carriage City Plaza on Irving Street.

Details of the settlement agreement approved last year can be found in this earlier post.
