Four months after breaking ground, construction on a senior housing facility is starting to take shape on Esterbook Avenue.
The Jack and Margaret Myers Senior Residence is slated as a four-story, 51-unit development on the property of Divine Mercy Parish (formerly St. Mary’s renamed after a merger with St. Mark’s). Groundbreaking took place in March and construction could take about a year. The project first was presented to City Council in December 2007.

This is a worthy project because it is a nonprofit that will allow people who only have Medicaid to pay for their care. Medicaid beds are few and far between in NJ and more projects like this need to be built.
