Poll: Favorite pizza place in Rahway

pizza2It’s the slow time in the summer so what better time to break out our (somewhat) annual pizza poll. This will be about our fifth annual (more or less) pizza poll, so let’s get talking:

What’s your favorite place for pizza in Rahway?
Brooklyn Pizza
Gio’s Pizza
Gino’s
KC’s Pizzeria
Michelino’s
Nunzio’s II
Nancy’s Towne House
Plum Tomato
Subworks
Tony’s Pizza Cafe

pizzaThere have been a few changes since our last pizza poll in 2013. For one,  Papa Vito’s is still located in the St. Georges Avenue shopping center but now goes by the name Plum Tomato. Another change was Buona Pizza on Westfield Avenue morphing into Gio’s Pizza. We’ll see if those changes had any effect on readers’ palates.

Also, Ted’s Pizzeria on Whittier Street has turned into a Mexican eatery called Las Pinatas. I guess we’ll have to add them to our Favorite Mexican Restaurant the next time we do that poll.

Previous winners of our poll — which is completely unscientific and open to interpretation — have included Nancy’s Towne House, Nunzio’s II and the former Rahway Pizza, which has since closed, but results have always been pretty close. It’s all a matter of taste.

  1. I’m really enjoying the new incarnation of Papa Vito’s. Plum Tomato thus far, is my local fav for as close to NY style pizza as I can find locally. Plus, they now make a Grandma Pie, which was never on their menu before. New owner seems to be more personable than the previous also, and very quick delivery service (well, at least to my house!). Still like Nancy’s but it’s inconvenient since pizza is a delivery sort of meal for us, not dine-in.
