Park Square begins taking applications

Landmark Companies has started accepting applications for Park Square, with a move-in date of June.

Keasbey-based Landmark announced last week the hiring of Nilyne Fields as rental manager for the 159-unit rental complex. The initial phase on Irving Street includes 33 one-bedroom and 30 two-bedroom apartments, ranging from 800 to 1,500 square feet, along with indoor parking.

The first retail tenant was signed several months ago, with Eyes on You optometrist to occupy the corner spot at Irving Street and Elizabeth Avenue. Here’s a peek at what the Irving Street side of Park Square looked like about a year ago.

  1. The Park Square development is looking good — I like the different color bricks on various sections of the facade, giving the impression of a collection of brick buildings rather than one monolithic building. Let’s hope the new buildings they’re working on in the back get completed more quickly than the Irving St. building. The rental prices are still too high in my opinion, but I expect to see them come down a bit more and then it should fill up. It will be nice to get some more people downtown and hopefully start growing the downtown business district.

  2. The representatives for Park Square really should have had a better spot for their booth at the Hot Rods and Harley’s. Granted it made sense for them to be right in front of their building, however, it was so far at the end of the prime spot of the event that the traffic had to be substantially lower to give out material.

  3. The rendering looked great – the actual complex looks more like the McBurrbs to me – what happened to the mansford roofs or cornice detailing? Cheap, cheap, cheap…

  4. I just cant understand how anyone will pay those rents living alone. Should lots of ads for room-mates with these rent prices.

  5. much nicer than what else went up – would have like to have seen all the upper corner units have those great windows tho

  6. Has anyone moved into any of these units yet? I inquired about rental rates through their website a few times and no one has gotten back to me. If they are really trying to rent these out, I don't see any effort on part of the sales staff.
