New retail agent at Carriage City

It looks like Carriage City Plaza has a new leasing agent. Paramus-based The Goldstein Group moved into the ground-floor of the East Milton Avenue corner of the building several weeks ago.

No word from Silcon/Carriage City about what happened to the steakhouse — an unnamed “New Jersey institution” — that was in the works a year ago for that area. I’m sure you all have your guesses.

The dry cleaners at Carriage City has opened but it appears unlikely that Cuppy’s Coffee will move in next door (though Goldstein does label the space that way in their site plan). There remains a building permit on the front door of Cuppy’s — dated earlier this month — indicating alterations to the space for a “Mr. G’s.”

  1. Hi there … relatively new Rahway resident here, been reading your blog for a few weeks … nice job, keep up the good work.

  2. Has anyone used the new Skyview Dry cleaners yet? I was thinking about going this weekend but am always weary of new establishments. I usually go to the place on the corner of Irving and Grand.

  3. Anon, I went to the dry cleaner the other day, have to p/u today. Will let you know if they did a good job. Will say that it was only $1.05 for cleaning and pressing the shirt tho, didn’t need to be dry cleaned. I thought that was very reasonable. Owner was very pleasant too.

  4. Picked up shirt from the cleaner. They found it pronto (I’ve had issues with other cleaners sometimes losing shirts or not having them done on time); was pressed nicely and the service was courteous. Seemed to be plenty of items already in the store, so people are using them. I’ll be back.
