Rahway’s 14-percent drop in crime last year followed a wider trend throughout the area of declining crime rates, including a 13-percent dip in Union County overall and a 4-percent drop statewide.

Reported crime down 14 percent in 2013

Overall incidents of crime in Rahway dropped by 14 percent from 2012 to 2013, including an 11-percent decline in nonviolent crime and 38 percent in violent crime, according to the latest Uniform Crime Report (UCR) released last week by the State Police.

A new year, a new look

After more than six years, it was time for a facelift for Rahway Rising. I hope you like the new design, with a shift from a Blogger platform to WordPress. There’s still some tweaking and upgrading to be done as we get more acquainted with the new platform so you may see some more subtle changes over the coming weeks. Bear with me if there are any hiccups, particularly if you subscribe by email or follow on Facebook.
