* A Star-Ledger "I Am New Jersey" profile of local artist Marcel Truppa on Friday. It must have been about a year ago when I made my first visit during one of the First Thursdays events and it was evident, as one person put it in the Ledger profile, "he's absolutely a local treasure." If you've never been to his downtown studio on Irving Street, it's worth the trip, whether it's stories about his art or living in Rahway.
* A Wall Street Journal piece about jetpacks on Monday that included a Rahway environmental engineer who's been building one in his basement for the last decade or so.

I got a suggestion for a new poll question: "If you were desperate for a cheeseburger, where in Rahway would you go?" It follows our culinary theme among poll questions which seem to be the most popular. We have some ideas but to try to avoid leaving out any potential vote-getters (as we did with the pizza poll), we'll accept some "nominees" this week to be included in the poll; email suggestions or use the comments section below.

I might be biased because I worked there briefly when I was a teenager, but I always really liked Flynn's Irish Pub's burgers.

16 oz big beli cheese burger if your brave enough to try.
If I were really in the mood for a cheeseburger, I'd head to the Linwood in Linden. Allegedly, the Star Ledger's Munchmobile rated it the best burger in NJ.
With Bachmann's under renovation, our burger choices are limited.
Big Belly Deli makes a giant burger and their regular one for us mortals is juicy and tasty. I'd also give props to the Rahway Grill across the street.
The Waiting Room makes a good burger and how can anyone resist the White Diamond in either Clark or Linden?
I haven't had the chance to try every place in the area yet, but Flynn's burgers has thus far been my favorite. Helps that they are right across the street from my apartment. I do like Rahway Grill as well; cheaper, equally as satisfying and as close to home.
I'd try Big Belly after reading what Mr. Rahway had to write about it but my BF and I have currently stopped eating beef, at least for the time being. Will make it my first pit stop as soon as I fall off the wagon :)
The Rahway Grill makes a good burger. Also liked the Bison Burger from Just A Little Healthier down the street.

Best Burger in RY history was Koza's with Bachmans a close 2nd. Honorable mention to Stiles Inn in Linden.
However, the best burger in this area is the LinWood Inn (corner of Wood& Linden Aves) Linden has them all beat.
I never tried any other burger in Rahway, so can't compare it with other places in town, but I have to say that Flynn's Irish Pub's burgers were one of the best burgers I've ever had. ever!

Flynns? the roll is twice the size of the burger! they used to be good, but not an more.
I agree. The Flynn's burger doesn't do it for me anymore. I've had burgers at CubaNu and those are tasty. They spice it up real nice and cooked it to my medium-rare request.
